Removals from Osnabrueck with tradition - Our history
The beginning of a success story
In 1900, Heinrich Koch from Glane laid the foundation for what is now KOCH International. With one horse and a wagon, he started his transport business in Osnabrueck. His reliability and dedication formed the basis for the company's long-term success. These values were later carried on by his son Franz and his wife Paula, who took over the business.
A look back at 1904The company was still young, but already firmly established in the region. Transport was carried out by horse-drawn wagons – a symbol of the early days of the logistics industry and the changing times.
The Next Generation and the Growth of the Company
After completing his commercial training in 1939, Heinrich Koch joined the family business. During a time of great challenges, he took on responsibility and helped develop the transport business and prepare it for the future.
When Walter Koch joined the company in 1941, the next generation of the family began taking on responsibility. Together with his brother Heinrich, he guided the business through challenging times and laid the foundations for further growth.
In 1949, the company headquarters on Mühlenstraße were expanded to include the administration, furniture division and a workshop. At the same time, the forwarding business moved to Elbestraße – an important step in meeting the growing demands of the logistics industry.
Expansion of Logistics and the New Headquarters
In the early 1970s, Koch International laid the foundation for further growth by establishing a modern logistics facility on the BAB 1 motorway at the Osnabrueck-Hafen exit, together with a truck stop. Through targeted investments, the acquisition and leasing of additional logistics warehouses, the company continued to expand and prepare for the increasing demands of the logistics industry.
Koch International moved into its new headquarters on Prof.-Porsche-Straße in Osnabrueck in 1974, and marking another important milestone in the company's history. The modern building provided space for further growth and reflected the transformation of the company from its beginnings with horse-drawn wagons into a forward-looking logistics service provider.
Entering the International Moving Industry
In 1985, KOCH Moving Logistics took its next step towards globalisation. As a founding member and shareholder of the UniGroup Worldwide UTS network, the company became part of an international network for modern moving management. This partnership enables KOCH to support customers worldwide with high-quality moving and logistics solutions.
The company invested in the future by opening in 2007 a modern container warehouse with a crane system. The new facility enabled more efficient storage and handling of household goods and further strengthened the company's logistics capabilities.
On 1 January 2010, the former moving division became an independent company: Heinrich Koch | International Moving and Archive Logistics GmbH. This move allowed KOCH to focus specifically on customised solutions in the areas of moving and archive logistics.
