The public healthcare system of Türkiye, the General Health Insurance (Genel Sağlık Sigortası – GSS), is managed by the Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu – SGK).It is a universal, contribution‑financed model that covers almost 99 percent of the Turkish population. The system is financed through taxes and contributions – employers pay for their employees, while self‑employed persons make their own contributions.
